The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the integration of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering principles to develop, optimize, and maintain automated systems and equipment used in metal manufacturing processes. The Mechatronics Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the performance, efficiency, and reliability of manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and integrate mechatronic systems, including robotics, automated machinery, and control systems, for metal manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, stamping, welding, and metal forming.
  • Automation and Control Systems: Develop, implement, and troubleshoot control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS) to optimize the operation of automated equipment and machinery in the metal manufacturing environment.
  • System Integration: Work on integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components of production systems, ensuring seamless operation and maximum efficiency across various manufacturing stages.
  • Optimization and Troubleshooting: Analyze system performance and identify areas for improvement. Implement solutions to optimize speed, accuracy, and energy efficiency, while troubleshooting and resolving issues in automated systems.
  • CAD & Simulation: Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to design mechanical parts and assemblies. Employ simulation tools for testing and validating system designs and modifications.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Ensure the continuous operation of mechatronic systems by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating system upgrades or replacements to improve performance.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with production teams to assess existing manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for automation, and propose technical improvements to reduce costs and increase throughput.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel on the use of automated systems and new equipment. Help resolve issues related to machinery, controls, and system malfunctions.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation for system designs, programming, and maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaboration and Project Management: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop project timelines, manage tasks, and deliver projects on time. Participate in the selection and procurement of new equipment.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in mechatronics and automation technologies. Propose innovative solutions to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechatronics engineering, automation, or a related field, preferably in a metal manufacturing or industrial automation environment.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems and how they interact.
    • Proficiency in PLC programming, industrial control systems, and automation software (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
    • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing mechanical parts and assemblies.
    • Experience with robotics and automation systems used in manufacturing processes.
    • Knowledge of industrial sensors, actuators, and instrumentation used in metal manufacturing.
    • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues in complex systems.
    • Experience with system simulation, motion control, and data analysis tools.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations in manufacturing.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a creative and practical approach to engineering challenges.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and provide technical support.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring designs and systems are optimized for efficiency, safety, and reliability.
