Fund Development Officer Requisition ID: 2024-11523 Position Type: Full-Time Schedule Shift: Day Hours Per Week: 38 Travel: As needed Category: Alumni Affairs/Development Overview The Development Officer at Touro University California plays a crucial role in advancing the university's mission by supporting fundraising initiatives, managing donor relationships, and fostering alumni engagement. Reporting to the Vice President of University Advancement, this position requires a proactive and organized professional with a passion for philanthropy and collaboration. Responsibilities Fundraising and Donor Relations:
- Cultivate and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects, focusing on gifts of $25,000 and above.
- Identify and research prospective donors, maintaining a targeted list for major gift solicitation.
- Collaborate with University Advancement to develop and execute solicitation strategies for individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Prepare compelling proposals, reports, and donor correspondence to secure and sustain funding.
- At the direction of the VP of University Advancement, train and assist senior leadership in cultivating relationships with donors and prospects.
- Ensure timely and personalized donor acknowledgments that align with Touro's messaging and values.
Database and Reporting:
- Manage donor and prospect data in Raiser's Edge, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records.
- Generate reports to analyze giving trends and support strategic decision-making.
- Track and report on key performance metrics related to fundraising goals.
Event Coordination and Engagement:
- Plan and execute donor-centric events, including galas and dinners, in partnership with the University Advancement.
- Collaborate with alumni affairs to design programs fostering alumni engagement and support for university initiatives.
- Serve as a point of contact for event logistics, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees.
Marketing and Communication:
- Assist in developing fundraising materials, including brochures, newsletters, and digital content, including materials that can be used by senior leadership in soliciting donations.
- Contribute to the social marketing strategy by implementing philanthropy campaigns and direct mail initiatives.
- Partner with the Communications team to create presentations and promotional materials for donor outreach.
Administrative Duties:
- Support budget planning and monitor expenditures related to development activities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of fundraising strategies and donor engagement processes.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to volunteers and staff participating in advancement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet departmental goals.
- QualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in development, fundraising, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Raiser's Edge or similar donor management software.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Touro University California.
