Carle Health is excited to add a Hematology/Oncology Physician to the Carle Cancer Institute in Normal, Illinois. The Hematology/Oncology Physician would mainly practice at our campus in Normal.


Opportunity Details

Working one day per week at one of our satellite locations might be necessary. Training and interest in both Hematology and Oncology are required. Board certification, or board eligibility in both Hematology and Oncology is strongly preferred.

 

New graduates and candidates with experience are very welcome to apply. Mentorship for new graduates will be provided. Candidates with experience will be considered for leadership opportunity(s) within the Carle Health system based on their interest, experience and expertise. The Hematology/Oncology Physician would work as part of a multidisciplinary team with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gynecologic oncologist, genetic and nutrition counseling services. Breast surgery, colorectal surgery, urology, and neurosurgery services are available at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois. Carle BroMenn Medical Center is only a five minute drive from the Cancer Institute. EPIC electronic medical record is utilized.

 

The Hematology/Oncology Physician would enjoy a very generous compensation package in a stable, vertically integrated health system, while practicing in a multi-disciplinary setting with Tumor Boards and a strong support from Radiation Oncology and Surgical Services. Carle Health system is one of the very few health systems in the nation to offer its own health insurance plan – Health Alliance Medical Plans (HAMP). In 2018, Carle and the Univ. of Illinois opened their doors to the first medical student class at the new Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Academic appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

Carle Cancer Institute has strong clinical cancer research with a National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) Grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and currently has over 100 open clinical trials for cancer patients in the East Central Illinois region. NCI clinical trials are now available to our patients at Carle Cancer Institute in Normal. For candidates with a strong academic background, a research component will be considered. Carle Cancer Institute is a home of Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute with an existing opportunity to support investigator-initiated studies. In addition, Carle Cancer Institute has a close collaboration with the Univ. of Illinois Basic Science Cancer Center in Urbana, Illinois.
