Overview:
The Estimator plays a crucial role in overseeing the preconstruction phase, ensuring accurate cost estimates related to contracting, scheduling, and bidding. As a key team member, you will manage and analyze blueprints, specifications, and related documents, working closely with project stakeholders and prospective bidders to ensure the accurate estimation of project costs. Your ability to assess project requirements and deliver comprehensive cost estimates will directly support the successful execution of our construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Software Proficiency: Must have experience with or the willingness to learn preconstruction software such as Outlook, Excel, Project, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, On-Screen Takeoff, and Procore.
• Cost Estimation: Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for each project to ensure accurate cost estimates and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Detailed Estimates: Develop comprehensive and precise cost estimates by reviewing all aspects of a project, from initial design to final construction phase.
• Clear Communication: Present detailed cost estimates to upper management and other stakeholders, providing clear explanations to support decision-making and project planning.
• Technical Knowledge: Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings, project specifications, and construction requirements to accurately estimate project costs.
• Construction Process Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction processes, industry standards, and best practices to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare clear and thorough reports outlining all project costs, ensuring transparency and accuracy in cost tracking.
• Data Management: Input cost data into the company’s database to maintain accurate records for future reference and analysis.
• Cost Control: Monitor and track discrepancies between estimated and actual costs, adjusting estimating practices and processes as needed to improve accuracy over time.

Qualifications:

• Independent & Collaborative Work: Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to meet deadlines and achieve project objectives.
• Presentation Skills: Ability to create and present professional presentations that communicate complex data in a clear and understandable manner.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar estimating or construction-related role.
