Our risk appetite spans the globe, encompassing airlines, aerospace products, and airports, and approaching general aviation with a regional focus. With a specific emphasis on flights with aircraft seating capacity below 60 seats, our general aviation scope includes all private and commercial aviation, excluding military and scheduled airline and regular cargo flights. Our seasoned underwriting and analytical team are committed to empowering businesses to navigate these complex and ever-changing risks, offering tailored risk mitigation solutions that instill confidence and certainty in their global aviation endeavors.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Underwriter to join our underwriting team which continues to be a rapidly growing and dynamic segment. The individual will be responsible for servicing a renewal book and producing new business through exceptional underwriting practices throughout the United States.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Underwriter will be responsible for building and executing a business plan to expand our existing portfolio, aligning within the overall Aerospace business strategy.
  • Assist in achieving profitable premium and rate goals, working with actuarial and claims and successfully delivering results consistent with financial plan.
  • Collaborate across business units and functions to leverage existing resources to underwrite, manage and service an aviation renewal book and produce new business in accordance with the Aerospace underwriting unit goals. 
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the analysis and evaluation of risk.
  • Participate in roundtable discussions on risk assessment.
  • Negotiate with producers within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards to achieve profit objectives.
  • Build and enhance relationships with assigned brokers and clients to identify and establish new distribution relationships.
  • Maintain expertise with the products, services, priorities and target markets to more effectively enable clients to uncover hidden aerospace risks.

You will report to an Underwriting Manager.
