A Day in the Life

A typical day as an Outsourced Accounting Senior Manager might include the following:

  • Manages and oversees the ongoing financial reporting operations of outsourced accounting clients serving as their Controller.
  • Prepares and reviews periodic financial reports, preparation of client budgets, client key performance indicators and other management reports.
  • Implements a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the client's financial results.
  • Provides advisory services to clients.
  • Mentors and trains employees in the outsourced accounting services area.
  • Manages client relationships and performs client billings for accounting services provided.
  • Manages client relationships by monitoring client needs and building value into professional service.
  • Oversees and manages a team of outsourced accountants working together to provide accounting services for clients from a multi-faceted approach.
  • Works closely with outsourced accounting clients to assess ever-changing business and financial needs.
  • Utilizes technology to properly account for all accounting transactions for the client in real-time.
  • Customizes client financial reporting to meet their needs and help them better manage their businesses.
  • Prepares and analyzes client's key performance indicators (KPIs) and other management reports.
  • Provides ongoing advice to clients relating to historical financial information as well as financial projections.
  • Oversees the outsourced accounting team through the month/quarter/period end process including review of month-end balancing and journal entries, analysis of general ledger accounts, coding and completion of data entry of bank statements, and other bookkeeping transactions.
  • Oversees the preparation of reports, returns, and other documents as required, including sales tax reports, payroll reports, year-end tax forms, monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and other reports required by clients.
  • Evaluates the costs, benefits and risks of alternative solutions to client problems or needs.
  • Preparation of bookkeeping and accounting for clients.
  • Assist with obtaining credit facilities for clients.
  • Preparation of business license renewal forms.
  • Preparation of secretary of state filings.
  • Preparation of Forms 571 - Business Property Statement.
  • Preparation of 1099s to issue to independent contractors.
  • Assist with managing accounts receivable and accounts payable for clients.
  • Markets services provided by outsourced accounting team and cross sells services offered by others within the Firm.
  • Capitalizes professional experiences in order to develop business and practice lines.
  • Actively seeks feedback in order to develop the outsourced accounting services line.
  • Develops new product offerings based on identified needs of clients.
  • Provides mentoring and technical training for staff and managers in the outsourced accounting services area.
  • Manages client billings to ensure they reflect accounting services provided.
  • Participates in community organizations and industry functions.
  • Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
  • Maintains compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • You have 10+ years of accounting experience required, including prior experience managing staff.
  • You have a valid Certified Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent License, or Certified Management Accountant license preferred.
  • You have strong working knowledge of GAAP and comfort handling complex accounting issues.

  • You have skills in networking and developing business.

  • You are able to think innovatively to incorporate technology solutions and streamlined processes.

  • You are proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), QuickBooks and using various software packages.

Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Compensation

$140,000-$170,000 with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
