The Accounting Manager is a critical strategic leadership role that drives financial excellence and operational efficiency within the organization. Reporting to senior leadership, this position plays a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights that directly support key business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts receivable, including collections, addressing overdue accounts, finalizing sales invoices with accurate error checking and sales tax coding, tracking cash-in estimates, and overseeing the refinement of the Customer Credit Extension process.
  • Manage accounts payable processes, including overseeing AP duties such as PO receiving, invoice reconciliation, 1099 compliance, and vendor file maintenance. Ensure cash management and approve/vendor payment schedules.
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll, calculate sales commissions, oversee employee onboarding and offboarding, and handle all other payroll-related tasks (garnishments, child support deductions, employee advances).
  • Complete general ledger reviews for month-end closings, including prepaids and accruals. File and pay monthly Sales & Use Tax returns and prepare GL data and supporting documents for year-end CPA tax preparation, working closely with the CPA firm. Oversee Business Personal Property Tax listings and 1099 preparations.
  • Adjust the GL for tax return AJEs and follow up on estimated tax payments. Compile analysis reports for management review, including sales by product line, customer, and job profit margin. Purge old QuickBooks data and clean up server files, transitioning to server-based file maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Capability to manage multiple complex financial processes simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines and goals are met efficiently.
