Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Accounting / Controller to lead our accounting team at Aeronix Technologies Group. Aeronix Technologies Group is a dynamic and rapidly growing defense-focused organization specializing in enabling capabilities for the toughest missions. With multiple locations across the United States, an international presence, CAS and GAAP regulations, and private investors, the Director of Accounting is critical to our success. This role is critical in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and providing strategic accounting guidance to support our growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage the accounting team of 5-10 people, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Cost Accounting: Implement and manage effective cost accounting systems to track project costs, profitability, and financial performance company wide.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as government contracting requirements (e.g., FAR, CAS).
  • Audit Coordination: Lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely completion and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Financial Reporting/Consolidation: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Tax Coordination: Lead external tax preparation and reporting (coordination with outside firm).
  • Risk Management: Identify risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Accounts Payable / Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure operational liquidity and support ongoing projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in government contracting.
  • In-depth knowledge of government regulations, accounting principles (GAAP), and cost accounting standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; experience with ERP implementation a plus.
