Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Pharmacy Technician Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 01/27/2025 Duration: 12 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Local Contract Pharmacy Technician Philadelphia PA, 19104 ( 13 weeks ) 8:00am-5:00pm (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Schedule is 8.5 hours Description: 2 years' experience in Outpatient setting PTCB/CPHT certification HIGHLY preferred & required within 6 months of starting assignment LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - temp to hire opportunity Summary: Position Overview: A Pharmacy Technician supports licensed pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves preparing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of pharmacy operations. Key Responsibilities: Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Measure, package, label, and record dosages as per prescriptions. Enter and verify patient and prescription information into the pharmacy management system. Provide excellent customer service by answering patient questions and resolving concerns. Maintain inventory levels by ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies. Adhere to all legal and regulatory guidelines, including maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations. Operate cash registers and process payments for prescription and over-the-counter medications. Prepare and process insurance claims, resolving any billing issues. Perform quality control checks to ensure medication accuracy and safety. Collaborate with healthcare providers to verify prescriptions and clarify any discrepancies. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, pharmacy software, and prescription medications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions and records.
