Job Summary
The Director of Insurance Finance will be reporting into the SVP of Finance and Treasury and will be responsible for leading and managing the financial planning and analysis functions for the insurance division. This role involves overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making and ensure financial health. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the insurance industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
What You Will Do As A Director, Insurance Finance (Property & Casualty)
- Strategic Financial Planning:
Develop and manage the annual budget, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans for the insurance division. Collaborate with senior management to align financial strategies with business objectives and growth plans. - Financial Analysis:
Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights on performance metrics, profitability, and operational efficiency. Evaluate financial impacts of business decisions, including market expansions, and strategic investments. Coordinate Balance Sheet forecasting with support of the Insurance Finance team. - Reporting:
Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analysis, financial statements, and management reports. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies. - Data Management:
Oversee the development and maintenance of financial models, forecasts, and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making. Ensure data integrity and accuracy in financial systems and reporting tools. - Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts and planners, providing guidance and support for professional development. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment. - Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial planning and reporting processes. Implement best practices and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. - Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Assess and manage financial risks, including insurance reserves, capital adequacy, and investment performance.
What You Will Bring As A Director, Insurance Finance (Property & Casualty)
- Knowledge of US STAT & GAAP as well as SEC reporting standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially related to personnel development, project management, budgeting, planning and management reporting.
- Ability to effectively and diplomatically interface with all levels of management and personnel.
- Excellent excel and modeling skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business results.
- Works well under stress and tight deadlines.
- Effective communication, presentation, negotiation and persuasion skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- 12+ years’ experience with all phases of P&C insurance company finance and accounting, investment and treasury operations, and financial planning and analysis.
- P&C insurance experience required.
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance/Accounting.
- CPA designation preferred.
What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member
Pay Range*: $157,500.00 - $220,500.00 annually
You will also be eligible to receive long-term incentive awards, subject to program guidelines and approvals. You will also be eligible to receive an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, subject to program guidelines and approvals.
