Summary: We are looking for a Director Programming Strategy to join our team to develop our event calendar driven by strategic pillars of analytics and insights, weekly schedule day-part targets, and audience alignment. The Director Programming Strategy will be responsible for understanding internal and external trends aligned to upcoming available programming to hit our revenue goals. The person that will thrive in this role will have extensive understanding of the national sport event landscape, be a strategic and creative thinker, and someone who does well in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be both passionate about the customer experience and experienced in Content Operations. They will be versatile, a self-starter, highly collaborative across the organization, and have a customer-centric mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a detailed and diversified annual event calendar based on first party data, research, and trends, across event types, dates, times, and seasons that maximizes revenue.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of venue audiences and peak engagement times to optimize program scheduling.
  • Define processes and best practices that tailor programing by daypart and demographic to align with audience preferences and maximize occupancy, with flexibility and scale for new locations.
  • Regularly assess local event schedules for locations near Cosm venues to align programming strategy.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across venues, marketing, and strategy to align programming strategies to broader business goals.
  • Develop a ticket on sale plan supported by first party data, across all events, venue locations, on-sale phase, ensuring that strategies that align to sale goals.
  • Partner with media and studios for long-term strategic programming and ticket on-sale planning, driving essential inputs on event patterns, leveraging data.
  • Lead input and direction with Product on the program scheduling tool functionality and enhancements to support company scale.
  • Support cross-functional teams with clear communication across all programming plans and changes.
  • Availability to travel to current and future Cosm venue locations to gain an in-depth understanding of each market’s unique demographics, competitor events, and local demand.

Experience:

  • Degree and specialization in Media and Content Businesses, or a related field. Master’s degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in Content Programming functions, including experience in the entertainment or media industry, ideally with a broadcast background.
  • Experience and deep understanding of best-in-class tools and resources in the field, including defining new features required for business advancement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including familiarity with audience segmentation and targeting.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to design clear plans and workflows, and execute accordingly, plus the ability to adapt quickly to changing market demands, new data inputs, and audience trends.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across business functions like operations and product.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for delivering high-quality content to customers.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to venues.
