Job Description
The Chemist will work as part of a team to synthesize and purify compounds to maintain and expand the company's catalog inventory. Being familiar with synthetic organic chemistry, this individual will execute on synthetic organic chemistry techniques, in both milligram and multi-gram scale synthesis, to meet organizational objectives and serve as a key member of our Dexter operations team.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily: Follow synthetic procedures for the production of catalog compounds Use a variety of analytical methods to monitor reaction processes Perform prescribed quality assessment of products using a variety of analytical methods Purify both air and moisture sensitive compounds Troubleshoot existing processes when observations deviate from the known procedure With guidance, improve existing processes to reduce cost and increase reliability, purity, and safety Maintain complete, legible and timely laboratory records Maintain familiarity with, and operate by current and chemical hygiene plans Additional functions to assist in maintaining an efficient, safe and productive work environment Conscientiously learn and abide by the requirements of the site's quality management system Adhere to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy Perform other duties as required to meet business needs Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Chemistry or a related field of study or equivalent combination of applicable education and relevant work experience Proven track record working as part of a cross-functional team Proven experience with standard chemistry laboratory techniques Prior experience with synthetic organic chemistry and analytical techniques including: HPLC, TLC, NMR interpretation, LCMS Demonstrated ability to maintain an accurate laboratory record Knowledge of ChemDrawand Microsoft Office products Additional Information
