General Description
The purpose of this job is to maintain and support software tax collection applications for various offices within the County. Also serve as a user liaison for all county departments with any software/hardware issues. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary. • Work with the Assessor Office and other various tax collection departments in analyzing, troubleshooting system issues local or server base. • Provide data using various tools such as SQL querying and vendor software built in tools for tax collections and assessment. • Perform data extract for annual tax roll creation. • Serves as help desk with assisting employees with day-to-day problems with printers, locked out of accounts, re-installation of software, computer preparation for use, hardware issues, etc. • Maintain security access for the Assessor Office for Proval/Aumentum system. Perform periodic patch updates/upgrades as required. • Create and present documentation for end users. • Provide technical and analytical input for other departments as needed and assigned by the supervisor. • Performs other duties and related work as instructed and assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Requires an associate degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college in Information Technology or closely related field. Requires two (2) years of experience in database environments or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Special Certifications and Licenses: • Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver's license. Thorough knowledge of • Programming languages and development environments; • Scripting languages • Web sever software such as IIS, Apache, and Tomcat; • Database environments such as SQL Server; Structure Query Language such as SQL, PL/SQL or T-SQL; • Principles and practices of systems implementation and software development.
Physical Demands: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement • Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, or skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of mechanical or electronic office or shop machines or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment): • Involves routine and frequent exposure to: - Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen. - Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions. - Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife. - Vibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors. - Traffic; Moving machinery. - Electrical shock; Heights.
