The Assistant General Counsel will report to the General Counsel and will be responsible for:
Work closely with the internal treasury function to advise on all legal matters pertaining to the company's relationships with various financial services institutions
Provide legal support for the Company's mortgage warehouse and repurchase facilities and its secured and unsecured credit facilities
Provide legal advice on CLOs and securitization matters
Provide legal advice and consultation focused on a variety of legal issues relating to the commercial real estate industry, including bridge and mezzanine financing
Support the General Counsel with General corporate compliance and legal assistance, including but not limited to drafting and review of contracts, including those related to the Company's joint ventures
Profile
J.D. with strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
Admission to NY State Bar
3-5 years of experience with commercial/corporate finance transactions, treasury and mortgage warehouse facilities gained at a top NYC law firm
Relevant post-big law in-house experience also considered
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to solve complex legal issues
Ability to work well cross-functionally
