Food Service Journey

The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for multiple Food Service Journey positions at the Goose Creek Correctional Center (GCCC) located in Mackenzie Point, Alaska. What You Will Be Doing:Supervise an inmate work crew who will prepare and serve meals for approximately 1,500 inmates three times daily at the Goose Creek Correctional Center (GCCC) in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Supervise an inmate work crew responsible for the production and preparation of all bakery items and the proper preparation of all sandwich bread, hot dog buns, hamburger buns, French bread, wheat and rye bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and breakfast pastries with in-house ingredients. Monitor the issuing of individual trays on the service line and ensure that the proper amount of food is portioned correctly on each tray. Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and organized, ensure appliances, utensils, trays, and other equipment are washed, properly dried, and stored in the designated areas. You will be working in the state's largest industrial kitchen with other staff and inmates daily.
