Certification Details BLS ACLS NIHSS (preferred) Job Details General Information Beds: 30 Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year Will Accept a First-time traveler? Yes Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff Patient Types: Post-op, Ortho, Med/Surg Overflow Patient Ratios: RN: Days – 1:4-5; Nights 1:5-6; CNA: 1:10-15, staffing dependent Typical Staffing: Days - 3 CNA’s; Nights - 2 CNA’s Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (preferred) Skills required: Prior post-op experience is most preferred, Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, Cardiac rhythm interpretation, Occasionally Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone drips (preferred experience) Support on the Unit: Charge nurse, Phlebotomy, IV/VAT Team, RT - 24/7, Hospitalist available - 24/7, OT, PT - daily, ST- on call, Centralized Tele Monitoring with remote Tech Charting System/Equipment: EMR: Meditech Expanse, IV Pumps: Alaris, Medication dispensing: Pyxis Floating: Units: may float to other similar units within scope of practice, Rotating with permanent staff Orientation: 2 days of hospital orientation, 2 on unit with preceptor (shift they are contracted to) Job Requirements Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year Prior post-op experience is most preferred Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance Schedule Information Weekend rotation: every other Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week – this is mandatory Can we approve time off? up to 7 days – must extend to accommodate 13-week contract Call required: None Holiday Expectations: Any major holiday. Travelers will work holidays.
