Job Details

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic biotechnology team. This role will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting the company’s financial goals as we advance cutting-edge therapies. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for contributing to impactful scientific innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting:

Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and journal entries. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Process invoices, manage payment schedules, and maintain vendor relationships. Record and reconcile accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide detailed variance analysis and budget reports to management.

Compliance and Audits:

Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies. Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and analyses.

Operational Support:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for key business decisions. Assist in tracking and reporting on project budgets and grants. Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of relevant accounting experience; biotechnology or life sciences industry experience is a plus. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
