We are seeking a Senior Character Artist for our client who is a video game developer, and publisher.

As a Senior Character Artist, you will bring champions to life by creating and texturing high and low-poly stylized models. You will help create some of the most iconic characters in the world of gaming. Your sculpting skills, artistic eye, and experience with anatomy, form, and color will lead the way in character creation. Working within both technical and design constraints, you will use your knowledge of proportions, anatomy, and readability to ensure models are optimized in game.

Your craft expertise and high-level execution will enrich the player's immersive experience.

As a Character Artist III , you'll use your artistic and technical skills to help guide the development of character art from external artists. You will work with Product Leads, Delivery Leads, team members, Art Lead, Associate Art Director, and the Art Director, to stay aligned on vision and priorities, reporting to the Character Art Lead. Your duties will be to oversee and provide character art feedback to external partners and also take on internal Champion Skin tasks.

Responsibilities:

Provide clear and constructive feedback (verbal, written, and paintovers) for proxies, sculpts, low poly models, and textures to internal and external artists to hit product quality standards, project art pillars, and highlight improvement areas Interpret and push concept designs in 3D that work within the technical constraints (polycount, texture size, rig) and that are optimized for dynamic animations and deformations by utilizing clean edge flow topology Communicate and work successfully across disciplines to find creative solutions to production, pipelines, and process challenges Collaborate with other disciplines to create 3D assets ranging from humanoid to creatures that meet all aesthetic, technical, and product standards for premium champion skins Mentor character artists in their craft, delivering feedback to aid in their growth Understand and adhere to League of Legends technical requirements to create low poly assets that are optimized for deformation and animation while taking into account technical and design constraints such as poly count, texture memory limits, and topology.. Blend your painting skills and knowledge of color, light, value and texture with textures baked from a sculpting workflow into our iconic League of Legends hand-crafted texture style. Utilize your knowledge of programs like Substance Painter and Marmoset Toolbag to generate current-gen deliverables and characters. Contribute to documentation for best practices for vendor onboarding, workflow guides, style guides, and process/tutorial guides. Occasionally travel overseas to provide training directly to external artists and connect with external teams Required Qualifications:

5+ years' experience in video games industry as a character artist Excellent knowledge of human anatomy, form, and color theory Experience working with modeling, sculpting, and texturing programs such as Maya, Substance Painter, Marmoset Toolbag, ZBrush, Photoshop, and 3DCoat Development experience creating materials and PBR assets within modern game engines (Unreal, Unity, etc) Experience creating high-quality, hand-painted stylized characters through past professional or personal work Experience working with external partners Experience mentoring and training artists Experience working and communicating with multiple disciplines to find creative solutions and hit production goals Growth Mindset towards learning and developing as an artist Interest in International travel for onsite training and conferences It's our policy to provide equal employment opportunity for all applicants and employees of Bee Talent Solutions.
