An exciting opportunity has opened for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Civil Defense Attorney. This role is perfect for a self-motivated legal professional with a strong background in civil defense and first-party matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing top-tier legal advice and representation to our clients, working on complex and high-profile cases. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience and offers the chance to be part of a supportive, collaborative, and high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive legal advice and representation to clients in civil defense matters, with a particular focus on first-party cases. Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations with probable case outcomes for individuals and businesses. Prepare and draft legal documents, such as legal briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and deeds. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or argue for the defendant's legal rights. Conduct research and analysis of legal problems to interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses. Manage and oversee paralegals and legal assistants. Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients where appropriate. Maintain current knowledge of changes in legislation that may affect clients and their cases.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Civil Defense Attorney with a focus on first-party matters. Current license to practice law in the state. Outstanding negotiation, research, and interpersonal skills. Proven track record of representing clients in court or before government agencies. Demonstrated ability to develop legal strategy and objectives. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to handle large volumes of complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound judgment calls. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas. Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Strong client service skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
