Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Plastics Process Technician to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of plastic injection molding or extrusion machines, producing high-quality parts that meet production specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of plastics processing, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot plastic injection molding or extrusion machines to ensure smooth production and high-quality output.
Adjust machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed, and material flow to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of equipment to minimize downtime and ensure peak performance.
Monitor production runs to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards, making necessary adjustments to maintain consistency.
Inspect finished products for defects and quality issues, implementing corrective actions as needed to meet customer requirements.
Assist with mold, die, and tooling changes, ensuring proper installation and setup.
Collaborate with the quality control team to conduct tests and ensure products meet required standards.
Record machine settings, production data, maintenance logs, and other key metrics to maintain accurate documentation.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process issues and resolve them promptly to minimize production delays.
Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of materials, tools, and equipment, to ensure a safe working environment.
Train and mentor junior operators or technicians, ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in plastics processing or a related field is preferred.
At least 2-3 years of experience in plastic injection molding, extrusion, or related processes.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues related to machines, materials, or production processes.
Knowledge of plastics materials, including their properties and processing conditions.
Experience with machine monitoring and process control systems.
Familiarity with quality control procedures and the ability to identify defects and implement corrective actions.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and process specifications.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
