Job Title: Nuclear Radiology Generalist Job Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (to include call) Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified License: Required - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist through Texas Medical Board Certifications: - CNMT: Certified Nuclear Medical Technologist through NMTCB or - N-ARRT: ARRT Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist Must-Have: - Operation of all required equipment, including troubleshooting when necessary - Basic life support and understanding of medical terminology - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to independently scan patients following established protocols - Articulate and courteous in interaction with patients and staff - Liaison skills - Customer service orientation - Radiation safety knowledge Job Description: - Perform high-quality routine and specialized nuclear radiology procedures as requested for interpretation by radiologists. - Integrate scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care to provide diagnostic information. - Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. - Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and technique. - Prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications per state regulations and institution policy. - Serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and other support team members. - Confirm patient identity with approved identifiers. - Provide age-appropriate care and prepare patients for procedures. - Verify patient pregnancy and informed consent status. - Assess factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medication contraindications, patient risk for reaction to medications, patient history, laboratory results, and insufficient patient preparation or artifacts. - Determine and administer the appropriate type and dose of contrast agent based on patient order, age, weight, and medical/physical status. - Anticipate and respond to patient needs throughout the entire encounter. - Utilize basic office equipment, such as fax machines. - Bilingual skills are preferable.
