Job Title: Cath Lab Tech Profession: Allied Health Professional Specialty: Cardiac Cath/EP Lab - Surgical Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Primarily Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 2 years of Cath Lab Tech experience required License: Not specified Certifications: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI preferred Must-Have: TAVR, MitraClip, and Watchman experience Description: The Surgical Technologist will prepare the procedure room and sterile field for surgical procedures. This includes the setup of sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment. They must be able to anticipate equipment required during procedures and operate it efficiently. Maintaining sterile instruments is also an essential part of the job. Surgical Technologists will be required to function in multiple roles of the procedure team including as scrub, circulator, and documenter. Good organizational skills are a must. Certification as a Surgical Technician or compliance with specified state requirements is necessary. Experience in Right Heart and Left Heart Hemodynamics, Cardiac Interventions, CTO, PCI, Pericardiocentesis, Vascular Interventions, RotoPro, LVADs, AngioVac, and FlowTriever is essential. Mechanical Circulatory Support experience including ECMO, Impella, IABP, and ProtekDuo is required. Experience with Structural Heart procedures such as TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, CardioMEMS, PFO, ASD, VSD, and Valvuloplasty is necessary. Critical care or Cardiac Experience is required. A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is necessary.
