Foster Logistics, LLC is hiring: Warehouse Associate in Chicago

Job Summary:
The basic function of the Warehouse Associate is to manually move freight, stock, or other materials (automotive, hazardous materials, fertilizer, etc.) throughout the warehouse. This position also works on various projects and performs other general labor functions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Conducts daily safety check of forklift trucks.
2. If in receiving area, ensures that proper receiving procedures are followed. This includes verifying the condition of inbound freight and documenting any damage, shortages, or over-shipments.
3. If in receiving area, ensures that all product received is promptly placed in designated locations and inventory tags completed where applicable.
4. Picking, staging, and verifying of the product and quantities for outbound orders. Also, ensures orders are filled accurately.
5. De-kitting, banding, wrapping, restacking, repackaging, and labeling of customer products.
6. Scans labels to show receipt of inventory.
7. Ensures that aisles are kept clear.
8. Ensures that safety standards are understood and being followed at all times.
9. Notifies the Warehouse Team Lead of any problems with equipment, the building, or any suspicious activities.
10. Maintains an ongoing consolidation of material and helps with inventory control operations.
11. Ensures that the inside and outside areas of the warehouse are kept in a clean and organized manner.
12. Takes necessary steps to prevent theft in the warehouse. Secures all doors and docks at the close of business. Questions any unauthorized personnel in the building.
13. Data entry into company and customer systems.
14. Maintains a clean working environment at all times.
15. Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
16. Re-packing of super-sacks with required PPE.
17. Operate a flatbed truck for making occasional pick-ups for customers and use previous knowledge of tow strap use or use of chains to secure product.
