Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for organizing and scheduling staff, directing day-to-day warehouse operations, and coordinating with two other companies sharing the office/warehouse space. The ideal candidate will adjust schedules as needed, ensure order accuracy, maintain productivity levels, and oversee facility maintenance. A proactive leader will leverage experience and creativity to develop new strategies for managing merchandise and improving operational efficiency.
Warehouse Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs and actions on the day-to-day activities of the Hill York warehouse, including shipping, receiving, maintenance, inventory control, vehicle maintenance, etc.
- Schedules drivers to pick up and deliver parts and equipment.
- Controls the issue and return of company tools to the field.
- Responsible for the daily scheduling of Hill York warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing.
- Provides exceptional customer and vendor service (internal and external).
- Monitors inventory levels.
- Receives and enters materials into operating systems, with appropriate documentation.
- Oversees disposal/return of surplus material or scrap products.
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail.
- Assists project managers and foremen with daily construction project purchases.
- Assists in major purchases of PVF and tracks credits for leftover PVF returned to suppliers.
- Keeps facility maintained and clean (yard, security lighting, paint, etc.).
- Attends regular operations meetings to coordinate with team.
- Performs annual checks of Hill York ladders onsite in office.
- Maintains a record of any refrigerant that enters or leaves the office.
- Manages HY equipment & tools, repairing as needed.
- Coordinates with operations and service managers for fleet maintenance.
- Reviews, schedules & ensures maintenance is done on all equipment and vehicles.
- Performs monthly inspections of company vehicles located at the office using appropriate systems.
- Communicates repairs that need to be made to equipment/vehicles and gets necessary approval to repair.
- Assists with determining when fleet vehicles need to be replaced.
- Maintains Safety cabinet, ensuring it stays stocked with PPE, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc. (OSHA gear).
- Coordinates with and supports Safety Team as needed.
- Communicates clearly and effectively to others the steps in a process and the importance of following that process.
- Occasional driving on behalf of the company.
- Works with the landlord’s Warehouse Manager whenever needed to ensure the warehouse as a whole is properly maintained, clean, neat, orderly and safety is a priority.
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, tools, and materials, up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to frequently bend, squat, reach, twist, push, pull.
- Complete knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies, processes, and procedures.
- HVAC experience a plus.
- EPA Card.
- Forklift Certification.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Computer Skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Good to excellent time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent at planning and organizing.
