Description

Maintains receiving and warehousing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security and safety procedures and protocols.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations
  • Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
  • Ensure supervisors and employees adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping requirements
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies
  • Plan work rotations, assign tasks appropriately, and appraise results
  • Assure that a safe work environment is maintained, and employees follow safety procedures
  • Confer with supervisors and managers to coordinate operations and activities
  • Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results
  • Determine standards, budgets, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workload

Minimum Requirements

  • 5-8 years of successful hands-on experience in warehouse operations in a lead or supervisory capacity
  • Must pass background check and drug screening requirements
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Inventory management skills
  • Able to perform well under pressure
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
  • Computer and internet fluency
  • Manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job
  • Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs

Education

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred

Work Environment

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
