Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT: Performs the planning, organizing, coordinating and administration of all purchasing and materials management functions at the SNG Plant, including warehouse activities. Prepares management and compliance reports.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Reviews purchasing and materials inventory requirements and collaborates with the Plant Manager to plan and prioritize requirements. Uses computer to track inventory and prepare reports.
2. Responsible for the operation of the SNG warehouse including receipt, storage, inventorying, issuing, and shipment of materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts; ensures effective utilization of storage space and equipment. Reviews spare parts inventory and reconciles MP2 (CMMS system) inventory, Great Plains inventory, and physical inventory. Packs, ships, and signs for hazardous materials.
3. Responsible for SNG Plant purchasing activities related to stock items and approved purchase requisitions. Obtains environmental and safety data (e.g., MSDS's) for EHS approval before purchasing. Develops and maintains an approved vendor list. Negotiates purchase contracts and maintains practices consistent with anti-trust laws. Coordinates deliveries and ensures timely payment of invoices.
4. Compiles and prepares SNG Plant operations reports, including daily and monthly financial reports, PUC reports, foreign trade zone (FTZ) and customs reports.
5. Develops warehouse processes and procedures in coordination with the Plant Manager consistent with Company policies and standards.
6. Performs administrative duties: Maintains electronic and manual files on all matters relative to purchasing activity at the SNG Plant.
7. Complies with and enforces appropriate safety rules and procedures for warehouse operations. Maintains EH&S training requirements and reports all unsafe acts and conditions.
8. Complies with all applicable MIC and Hawaii Gas policies and procedures.
9. Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.

OTHER FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other related duties as instructed by supervisor/manager.

Qualifications

Required Education and/or Work Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 3+ years successful experience in all phases of the work described with proven administrative and organizational competence.
• Ability to operate lift truck.
• Demonstrated good working knowledge of warehousing and purchasing activities.

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:

• Certified and maintains certification for shipping hazardous material.
• Valid driver's license and car required.
