Job Summary

The Warehouse Operations Manager will plan, organize, direct, arrange, evaluate and be responsible for the operations and budget of warehouse facilities, including the identification of opportunities for warehousing operation improvements. Oversees the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods. This role also ensures workplace health and safety requirements are met and takes responsibility for the security of everyone in the building and the stock. This person is in charge of meeting productivity targets, managing teams, and addressing personnel issues such as recruitment, training, and discipline of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
2. Interacts professionally with clients, employees, customers, and suppliers.
3. Works effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
4. Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and peers.
5. Motivates, organizes, and encourages teamwork within the workforce to ensure that productivity targets are met.
6. Trains staff, monitors their performance and progress.
7. Communicates with other departments, staff groups, and internal customers.
8. Oversees stock control and processing orders.
9. Ensures that quality, accurate delivery, and budget objectives are met.
10. Responds and deals with internal customer communication in the most effective way available.
11. Keeps stock control systems up to date and plans future capacity requirements.
12. Produces regular reports and statistics as needed.
13. Ensures the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment.
14. Oversees the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. College degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience in administration.
2. Several years of progressively responsible experience in warehouse operations managing several exempt and non-exempt employees.
3. Minimum of three to five years multi-unit experience supervising exempt employees.
4. Strong communication skills; ability to invoke conflict resolution skills effectively.
5. Ability to operate web-based ordering systems, process customer requests, changes to orders, and client profiles.
6. Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
7. Experience with order processing systems or an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is a must.
