Our railroad maintenance division, Transdev Rail, Inc, provides an integrated suite of railroad maintenance, project oversight, and construction services. This position is in South Florida, where Transdev Rail, Inc. employs a workforce of approximately 80 employees to maintain over 70 miles of track, bridges and structures, facilities, and the right of way from Miami to Mangonia Park.

Overview of Position:

Equipment Operator will run, operate and help maintain railroad equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate various on and off-track equipment as required in a safe and efficient manner.
2. Ensure compliance with all railroad rules regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
3. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform daily equipment inspections.
4. Work around all types of moving equipment.
5. Perform laborer duties as needed.
6. Ability to pass railroad rules (GCOR) and RWP training.

Experience Required:

Prefer minimum two years’ experience operating heavy railroad equipment such as bulldozer, backhoe, excavator, grapple truck, or other large equipment on railroad maintenance and/or railroad construction projects.

Working knowledge of various types of tools and equipment.

Valid Driver’s License.

Prefer Class A CDL.

Able to read, write, and communicate in the English language.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and physical exam.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Able to climb up and down ladders, stoop, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, and walk on uneven terrain, rails, and ballast in a safe manner.
