District Manager - Hardware Stores

Overview

The District Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple hardware stores within a designated district. This role involves managing store performance, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving sales growth. Must be willing to travel within a 2-3 hour radius.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Store Performance:
    1. Monitor and analyze store performance metrics, including sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
    2. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance store operations.
    3. Conduct regular store visits to assess staff performance, merchandise presentation, and overall store cleanliness.
  2. Team Management:
    1. Recruit, hire, and train store managers and other key personnel.
    2. Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development to store teams.
    3. Foster a positive and high-performing work environment.
  3. Sales and Merchandising:
    1. Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
    2. Ensure that stores are well-stocked with the right products at competitive prices.
    3. Oversee merchandising initiatives, including product placement, promotions, and displays.
  4. Customer Service:
    1. Establish and maintain high standards for customer service.
    2. Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
    3. Promote a customer-centric culture throughout the district.
  5. Operations Management:
    1. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
    2. Manage inventory levels and control costs.
    3. Coordinate maintenance and repairs for store facilities.
  6. Business Development:
    1. Build relationships with local suppliers and vendors.
    2. Represent the company at industry events and conferences.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience in Hardware Retail Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Hardware store or department, with a focus on hardware or home improvement.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of merchandising principles and visual merchandising techniques.
  • Experience with store renovation and construction projects.
  • Experience with DIY projects and the tools it would take to do them.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
