HR Generalist

We are in search of a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to enhance our dynamic team. This pivotal role supports the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retirement, ensuring compliance with employment laws and fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will act as a linchpin in our HR operations, integrating strategic workforce planning with hands-on management of day-to-day HR tasks.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Foster relationships across departments to support employee relations and offer counseling as required.
  • Conduct interviews, assist in recruitment processes, and develop job-specific interview questions.
  • Analyze HR data to inform policy making and procedural implementations.
  • Handle and resolve employee complaints with proper documentation and timely actions.
  • Update and revise personnel policies and maintain the employee handbook.
  • Set HR department goals and develop innovative methods to enhance departmental efficiency and service.
  • Assist in managing internal investigations and maintain compliance with employment laws.
  • Maintain accurate records in the human resource information system (HRIS).
  • Design and deliver training programs and oversee professional development of employees.
  • Manage daily operations of benefit programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Promote workplace safety and health by engaging in wellness initiatives.
  • Stay updated on HR best practices by attending seminars and meetings.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Capability to work independently on diverse human resources projects.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similarly sized or larger organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS software.
  • Experience with union and non-union environments.
  • Familiarity with global employment laws and practices.
