MassChallenge is currently seeking a Part-Time Grants Contractor to join our team.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Collaborate with the Grants Manager to develop and refine compelling narratives for Letters of Intent (LOIs) targeting corporate, community, and private foundations.
  2. Conduct thorough research on potential funders using our pipeline, ensuring alignment with MassChallenge’s mission and strategic goals.
  3. Write and submit approximately four LOIs per month, adhering to specified deadlines and guidelines.
  4. Utilize existing MassChallenge development collateral, including previously written and awarded grants, to inform and enhance writing.
  5. Maintain clear communication with the Grants Manager and other stakeholders throughout the LOI development process.
  6. Assist in tracking submission status and follow-up activities within the Asana platform.

What You Bring:

  1. Proven experience in grant writing, with a strong portfolio of successful LOIs or grant applications.
  2. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  3. Familiarity with the nonprofit sector, particularly in working with startups, innovation, or health equity.
  4. Strong research skills to identify funding opportunities and assess alignment with organizational priorities.
  5. Proficiency in project management tools, particularly Asana, to manage tasks and deadlines effectively.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to feedback.
  7. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy and compliance in grant submissions.
  8. Experience with data analysis and impact measurement to support the narrative development process is a plus.
