Position Summary
JetBlue is looking for a Senior Analyst Airline Optimization - Operability to be based at JetBlue’s Support Center in Long Island City, NY. The Airline Optimization - Operability team is responsible for understanding and quantifying the effects of the Network on the Operation, and vice versa. The team will support planning decisions across the company to maximize the airline’s end-to-end profitability and operational robustness.
The team’s short-term responsibilities include helping to optimize schedules and operational targets and working across teams to prepare the schedule for deployment. Longer-term responsibilities focus on closely aligning JetBlue’s network plan with its operational footprint.
The ideal candidate will have commercial or operational planning experience, excellent quantitative and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work across teams to measure and balance planning requirements. Analytical and modeling experience are required.
- Identify hidden inefficiencies in Network or operational plans and opportunities to improve processes
- Work closely with Route & Schedule Planning crewmembers to build schedule scenarios, assess the revenue/strategic impact of decisions, and execute Network changes as needed
- Use planning scenarios to measure the cost impact of schedule changes
- Use tools to forecast operability outcomes and disruption risk
- Build relationships with Operational teams to help align short- and long-term planning decisions
- Manage metrics and reporting, including regularly updating decision support dashboards
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- Three (3) years of analytical experience in a related field such as network planning, operations planning, management consulting, financial planning & analysis, network optimization, schedule optimization, or crew/workforce optimization
- Three (3) years of experience in traditional machine learning and modeling, achieved from professional work experience
- Three (3) years of experience in developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau
- Strong airline business acumen
- Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication ability
- Able to effectively influence others at equal and higher levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least six (6) years of previous relevant work experience
- Familiarity with airline schedule, route planning, or Crew production tools/processes
- Knowledge and/or experience with best practices throughout the airline industry
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $64,000.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
