What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers is seeking an individual that understands cybersecurity and software development to craft, build, deploy and support enterprise cybersecurity and risk management services and tools. The role will be knowledgeable in one or more cybersecurity disciplines and has experience with software development, process automation and pipeline deployments. They will collaborate with multiple technical and business teams to build usable, stable and scalable security solutions to help reduce risk throughout the organization.
What Will You Do?
- Take primary responsibility in design, installation, maintenance, upgrade, security and enhancement of custom in-house or off the shelf security software.
- Provide onboarding, consulting, and troubleshooting services for customers and applications consuming encryption, secrets and key management services.
- Drive automation strategies for encryption, secrets and key management products and services, and security applications deployed in physical, virtual, and Cloud environments.
- Participate in research, analysis and evaluation of new zero trust solutions and services in the cloud, local data center, and desktop environments.
- Develop metrics and dashboards for deployed security solutions coverage and utilization and implement performance improvement measures.
- Provide operational support, troubleshooting and maintenance of major security related processes, controls or products.
- Analyze, configure, test, document and implement upgrades to security processes, controls or products.
- Design, develop, and build new Cybersecurity processes.
- Participate/lead activities to resolve situations involving improper attempts to access or infiltrate our networks.
- Recognize, analyze patterns, and respond to security events and escalate to management.
- Consult with business peers to analyze, support, and resolve Cybersecurity events.
- Understand and have input to the budget process, and share responsibility for cost-effective expense control of assigned projects.
- Participate in security and enterprise projects as assigned.
- Evaluate purchases and/or licensed software products to identify and address security exposures.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline preferred.
- 7+ years of experience performing builds, administration and/or support of security appliance devices, and knowledge of cryptographic protocols and algorithms.
- 7+ years of experience with programming/automation languages such as Python, Powershell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform and common industry continuous delivery tools.
- 7+ years of relevant experience with Cybersecurity practices, processes, and Cybersecurity event investigation/resolution preferred.
- Experience with virtual machine and container-based deployments, including AWS EC2 and EKS technologies.
- Broad knowledge of all IT related technologies with subject matter expertise in IT Security related technology and business exposures impacting organizational vitality preferred.
- Demonstrates sound analytic and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are loosely defined and/or conflict with available information.
- Knows where to obtain information needed to make the appropriate decisions.
- Breaks a problem down to manageable pieces and implements effective, timely solutions.
- Maintains partnerships across the organization, and is able to influence senior management, peers and staff through an inclusive style and recognition of their abilities to achieve results.
What is a Must Have?
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Five years of work experience within Computer Science or a related field required.
