Summary of Position
SiloSmashers is looking for a Technical SME to provide technical subject matter expertise to support research and/or studies related to information systems and analysis of data for CISA CSD.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical understanding of systems/architecture, cybersecurity policy, cybersecurity issues, and technical writing competency.
- Understanding and interpretation of a wide variety of classified and unclassified systems configurations/architectures/security requirements, and to explain systems (orally and in writing).
- Provide technical subject matter expertise to support research and/or studies related to information systems and analysis of data supporting working groups, and overall analysis of cybersecurity issues.
- Compare and contrast the benefits and drawbacks of information systems as it relates to risk.
- Attend meetings with DHS and non-DHS personnel and provide notes detailing configurations, architectures, and/or security requirements described in those meetings, and how those systems could help augment DHS unclassified, sensitive, and classified information sharing goals.
- Experience with red teaming incident response and security operations to provide practical insights and facilitate informed risk management decisions.
- Familiarity with advanced data analysis techniques, such as data correlation and trend analysis for evaluating emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Active knowledge of threat intelligence sources and tools that can be leveraged to develop threat assessments.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or other related analytical, scientific or technical discipline.
- Strong background in cybersecurity, with specific expertise in threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and risk management.
- 8+ years of information security experience.
- 4+ years of experience with FedRamp systems (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Previous Federal Government experience is a plus (DHS preferred).
