JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview

The Production Superintendent leads all assembly operations in the plant and coordinates the work of production departments through familiarity with all assembly processes, continual awareness of customer shipping requirements, work schedules, and quality levels.

Responsibilities

  1. Analyzes and determines material, equipment, and staffing requirements by studying daily operating results.
  2. Responsible for identification, implementation, and verification of continuous improvement opportunities.
  3. Implements and ensures compliance with shop floor standards such as BOS, 5S, Policy and Procedures, and Employee Relations Activities.
  4. Ensures the overall quality of the product produced, with the authority to identify quality problems and take appropriate action, including halting production, determining root causes, and initiating corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  5. Motivates and directs the training of all production personnel by selecting competent individuals and training and developing each individual.
  6. Acts as a liaison with managers and staff, effectively communicating relevant information to those who need to know.
  7. Establishes individual objectives through analysis and familiarity with each individual's job functions.
  8. Participates in HSE&E practices applicable to their job function.
  9. Reports accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, informing the supervisor of known HSE&E conditions that could adversely affect team members, assets, or the public.
  10. Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and promotes safe working practices in assigned production areas.
  11. Performs other related tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager.

Requirements

  1. 3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  2. Experience with automotive and JIT sequencing is preferred.
  3. Ability to work off-schedule shifts.
