Position Overview:

This job posting is for a Production Superintendent position at our Chicago Container plant located at 5445 W 73rd St, Bedford Park, IL 60638.

Under the general direction of the Production Manager, the Production Superintendent provides general supervision for production, shipping, and other related functions as assigned. The Production Superintendent is responsible for effectively leading a production team in the efficient and safe production of corrugated products and for evaluating opportunities to improve overall plant performance and profitability.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Coordinate activity with the production manager to plan and manage daily and weekly schedules to meet production goals, prioritize work orders, maintain quality requirements, and assure an even flow of work through all departments.
2. Maintain a clean, safe, and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all employees.
3. Assist the Production Manager in enforcing health, safety, environmental, quality, and continual improvement standards.
4. Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department.
5. Identify staffing needs, hire competent individuals, conduct employee training, oversee performance, and manage disciplinary situations.
6. Analyze production performance and make recommendations for process and equipment improvement.
7. Ensure predictive and preventive maintenance programs are accomplished and repairs are completed on time.
8. Conduct plant production meetings.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. 7+ years of previous experience in the corrugated manufacturing industry.
3. 5+ years of supervisory experience at a corrugated manufacturing facility.
4. Established knowledge of corrugated and packaging manufacturing machinery and safety practices.
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
6. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
7. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or electrical engineering.

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
3. Strong analytical, mechanical, and mathematical skills.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Min Hiring Rate: $95,000.00

Max Hiring Rate: $118,000.00
