Aerospace Business Units
Regal Rexnord Aerospace Solutions supplies engineered high performance spherical and cylindrical bearings, mechanical seals, gears and electrical components to the commercial air transport, regional aircraft, business aircraft, helicopter and military aircraft markets for use in engine systems, flight control systems, landing gear systems and airframe structures. Our aerospace bearing and seal products consist of rolling element airframe bearings and bearing tooling sold under the Shafer and Tri-Roller brand names, Teflon lined polymeric bearings sold under the Tuflite brand name, slotted entry, split ball and split race bearings sold under the PSI brand name, self-lubricating machinable lined bearings and coatings sold under the Rexlon brand name and mechanical seals sold under the Cartriseal brand name. Gears and electrical components sold under the Micro Precision brand name. Our global customer base includes all major engine and airframe OEMs, as well as major Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers to the engine and airframe OEM's and through our FAA approved repair stations we support major MRO and aircraft operators with repair and overhaul capabilities.
Brief Description
Leading supplier in the Aerospace industry, is seeking a Production Supervisor who will report directly to the Value Stream Manager, and manages the production operations and continuous improvement initiatives for the Assembly and Lapping/Honing Departments. The Production Manager owns the metrics of safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, total associate engagement, cross training and 6S for a large portion of the aerospace manufacturing operations. The Production Manager is responsible for driving improvements in all of the aforementioned metrics as well as developing the shop floor Team Leaders and Associates to take ownership of their areas and function as a cohesive, independent group.
Key Accountabilities
- Drive Safety First Culture throughout the facility. Promoting awareness and improvements
- Verify Associates adherence to all quality procedures
- Ensure daily maintenance of the SQDC reporting by each department
- Drive hourly productivity and accurate recording of daily production counts
- Lead effective RRCA analysis addressing production opportunities
- Implement Operations Performance Based Countermeasures
- Own Quarterly Performance Review process for each associate and give regular performance feedback
- Verify completion of TPM activities in each department and drive equipment downtime issues to resolution
- Lead and maintain 6S activities and standards
- Lead communication meetings with shop teams
- Coach and empower Team Leaders and Associates to improve and take ownership of their areas and Teams
- Ensure timely flow of orders through the shop
- Coordinate the training and mentoring of new associates
- Develop and lead effort to cross train associates
- Lead transition of DG Manufacturing to Future State Vision
- Support RBS activities and site continuous improvement journey
- Maintain employee timekeeping and absences
- Perform other related duties as assigned and assist in other department operations as required accommodating personnel and production requirements.

- Four year college degree (or related experience) and a minimum of five years manufacturing experience in an aerospace manufacturing preferred (machine shop) environment.
- Minimum three years supervisory or applicable experience
- Experience participating in/leading Kaizen Events focused on process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques
- Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership style and ability effectively escalate production and personnel issues to get them resolved in a timely fashion
- Ability to promote and foster a Continuous Improvement culture across a large associate team
- Ability to maintain an even demeanor in the face of adversity and exemplify strong, confident and fair leadership
- Working knowledge of 6S and Lean Manufacturing Concepts and the benefits of cellular manufacturing
- Working knowledge OSHA Safety Regulations
- Ability to gather data and facts around operational issues and formulate and execute an action plan to systematically eliminate these issues
- Ability to manage multiple areas and tasks while being complete and thorough in all interactions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high mix production environment.
- Support weekend supervision coverage
- Moderate physical demand is required which is equivalent to continuously moving and occasionally lifting light weight material. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
