What We Offer
The Production Manager plans, directs and coordinates all manufacturing and shipping/receiving activities in the Wilmington plant, to produce products of high quality at competitive costs by adherence to safety and other legal regulations.
Major Responsibilities
- Safe, cost-effective, timely and in spec. production with standard operating procedures for process & plant safety, employee health and safety, quality and plant emergency operations.
- External and Internal regulatory compliance, incl. environmental aspects of the plant.
- Personnel planning, staffing, organization and management (incl. training and supervision).
- Cost centers and resources required for safe and efficient operation.
- Communication and information in respective unit/plant and with main interfaces, e.g., Production Reporting.
- Plan, implement and improve production processes.
- Ensure the manufacturing excellence approach is in place and that daily/improve cycle are adhered to.
- Safe technical function of production facilities in cooperation with engineering / technology.
- Support development and management of the yearly cost budget for the operations organization.
- Support that operations activities are fully compliant with the Integrated Management System (Quality Management System/ISO9001 and Responsible Care).
- Responsible and/or accountable for local aspects of site logistics.
- Oversees 4 production supervisors (team leaders) and 1 manufacturing engineer. LE Manager for Wilmington warehouse supervisor.
What You Offer
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or Master's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with budget definition and controlling.
- Experience in leading and managing change at various levels of an organization.
- Experience working within a Quality Systems regulated (ISO9001), cGMP.
- Experience in a union environment.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Broad knowledge of related manufacturing disciplines.
- People management experience and applicable social skills.
