Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Welding Engineer to support and optimize welding processes in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding, with expertise in material analysis, process improvement, and quality control. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of weld quality and process compliance, while also driving efficiency and innovation in welding techniques and tooling design.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and apply material properties, design, and quality specifications for aerospace welding.
2. Conduct material analysis, including failure analysis, life predictions, and defining requirements for weld tooling and hardware.
3. Review and approve subcontractor welding procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
4. Analyze weld data to identify trends, ensure system health, and improve weld quality in production and rework/repair operations.
5. Collaborate across teams to improve welding processes, develop and qualify welding schedules, and design tooling to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
6. Oversee nonconformance inspections (visual, dye penetrant, ultrasonic, x-ray) and prepare dispositions for rework/repair of welding defects.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in aerospace welding & engineering, or a similarly regulated production environment.
2. Expertise in developing welding schedules, mechanical testing, metallurgical inspections, and supporting weld tool design.
3. Strong knowledge of inspection methods, including visual, dye penetrant, ultrasonic, and x-ray techniques.
4. Ability to analyze and resolve welding quality issues and implement process improvements.
5. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) and welding automation systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with failure analysis, life predictions, and advanced material properties in aerospace.
2. Knowledge of aerospace regulatory and quality standards for welding.
