Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in welding and fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will drive manufacturing improvements, optimize welding operations, and support production teams to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety in a fast-paced environment. Responsible for developing, implementing and managing facility weld program in accordance with company standards. Design and maintain welding automation equipment, programs, and train operators.

Principal Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

  1. Process Development: Oversee the site weld program, including, but not limited to, WPS/PQR, Welder Certifications, equipment automation programs, and develop, evaluate, and improve welding and manufacturing process specifications to enhance production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and other welding methods. Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation (i.e. ASME, ISO, Pressure Equipment Directive, etc).
  3. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with Quality Control to ensure welding processes meet industry standards and customer specifications. Work on corrective/preventive actions related to weld system issues, including tracking the status of open actions, receiving and reviewing responses from vendors or customers, and working with departments to ensure timely completion.
  4. Project Management: Lead or assist in designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing projects related to welding and fabrication. Set objectives and quality standards for weld production and achieve targets. Work with sales administration to understand and meet customer welding requirements. Represent the company with customers and suppliers regarding weld quality issues. Work with the management team to effectively maintain a continuous organizational improvement environment.
  5. Training & Support: Train and support production staff on proper welding techniques, equipment operation, and best practices. Work with Operations and Human Resources to identify employee training needs.
  6. Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, process sheets, and project reports. Perform Non-Conforming Material Analysis. Promote quality achievement and performance improvement.
  7. Equipment & Maintenance: Recommend, procure, and oversee the maintenance of welding equipment and tools. Availability to travel 5-10% of the time in 2025 while Site Operations are set up.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  1. Education: Bachelor degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  2. Unimpeachable ethics.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment with hands on welding.
  4. Certifications: Welding certifications such as CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or CWE (Certified Welding Educator) are preferred.
  5. Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding processes (MIG, TIG, stick), welding inspection techniques, and relevant industry standards (AWS, ASME). Be able to lead a project to completion.
  6. Software Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, welding simulation tools, and ERP/MRP systems. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  7. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  8. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of robotic welding systems and automation technologies.

Salary Range: $85k – 120k
