Location: Boston and Norwood
The Sports Medicine Department works with athletes of all ages to treat and prevent sports injuries and help them return to the activities they love. Over 45,000 athletes are seen in our clinics every year. The department provides life changing surgeries and management of acute/chronic orthopedic issues.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
- Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
- Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
- Explains the examination and is able to answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
- Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
- Practices High Reliability Training.
- Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
- Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
- Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
- Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complies with ETU and HIPAA regulations.
- Performs radiology procedures in a busy pediatric Radiology department.
- Assures quality results and communicates the relevance of the results to other health care professionals.
Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology
- MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification
