Job Description
Wildcat Sports Camps counselors are responsible for working as part of a team to provide a fun and safe environment for campers aged 6 to 14. Counselors should be at least 16 years of age and possess a passion for sports and working with children. Counselors will be on their feet for roughly seven hours each day and are expected not only to guide the campers in the various sports and activities but to participate alongside them as well. All counselors need to be CPR/AED/First Aid certified – this can be done as part of staff training if necessary. Being a counselor for one of our Wildcat Sports Camps is a unique way to get paid to have fun all summer long.Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise campers ages 6–11 (Wildcat J.V. Sports Camp) and/or ages 12–14 (Wildcat Varsity Sports Camp) in various sports, activities, and trips.
- Instruct and assist in teaching campers in various sports.
- Work with other counselors to set up daily activity plans in their designated stations.
- Create a fun-filled, safe, and inclusive environment for all campers and fellow counselors.
- Remain engaged in all camp activities at all times.
- Attend weekly staff meetings after camp.
- Be available every day for all four camp sessions & staff training
- Staff Training: TBD – likely a day in the week of June 3 – 7
- Session 1: June 10 – 21 (no camp on June 19)
- Session 2: June 24 – July 5 (no camp on July 4)
- Session 3: July 8 – 19
- Session 4: July 22 – August 2
- Each counselor will participate in a weekly check-in of no more than 5–10 minutes after camp each week. These check-ins will be with the director of their camp and at least one professional staff member.
Qualifications
- At least 16 years of age.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience working with children aged 6 – 14 preferred.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certified (can be completed as part of staff training)
- Prior experience teaching, coaching, and/or participating in sports.
- Ability to be active for 7–8 hours each day.

- Advanced experience in teaching, coaching, and/or participating in sports.
