Job Description
Our award-winning AECOM Sports and Venues practice is seeking an Architectural and Interiors New Grads for immediate employment based in either of our three offices, located in Kansas City, MO, Los Angeles, CA, and New York, NY. The candidate is to lead and execute interdisciplinary projects with a focus on Sports, and Public Assembly, including professional and collegiate arenas, stadia and coliseums, and recreation centers.
In your role, as entry-level new hires you are eligible to participate in AECOM’s Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.
Position Overview:
Working closely with the Sports Studio Leader, you'll work with talented teams of architects, championing creative solutions that redefine spaces, enhance communities, and align with our commitment to innovation and sustainability. Your leadership and design acumen will shape projects that resonate with clients, inspire our teams, and leave a lasting positive impact.
The responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the preparation of designs, quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
- Working closely with clients and teams in various arenas, you will support ideation sessions, translate concepts into compelling design narratives, and oversee their development into actionable plans.
- Develop solutions for routine technical problems with limited scope.
- Work under general supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard architectural techniques, procedures, and standards.
- Develops architectural designs to meet project specifications.
- Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and working drawings, develops details and edits specifications.
- Adapts and modifies design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations, while maintaining conformance with established architectural practices ensuring the quality of product.
- Prepares architectural reports and progress narratives.
- Supports the work of a more senior-level architect in executing a collaborative approach to establishing a design and vision.
- Coordinates technical drawings with internal and external consultants.
- Participate in presentations of designs to clients, communities, and other interested stakeholders.
- Supports company policies and contributes to the overall dynamic team environment of the office culture.
- Must be proficient in all the latest architectural and graphic design software platforms.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture and interiors or a related discipline from an accredited university.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $52,000.00 - $59,000.00.
