Responsibilities

1. Welcome patients and make them feel comfortable
2. Discuss the treatment plan with patients and answer any questions they have
3. Prep sterilized equipment and make it available to the dentist for exams and procedures
4. Take vital signs and accurately record medical histories
5. Perform preliminary exams and collect oral health histories
6. Evaluate patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, and infection
7. Remove plaque and apply fluoride treatments
8. Teach good oral hygiene techniques
9. Create dental impressions
10. Take x-rays
11. Assist dentist during procedures and exams
12. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies

Qualifications

1. Current Dental Hygienist licensure
2. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines
3. Able to stand and sit for extended periods and bend repeatedly
4. Friendly communication and customer service skills
