We have an opening for a Processing Supervisor, Night Shift based in our West Jordan, UT manufacturing facility. As the Processing Supervisor, you will help manage and mobilize a team of hourly associates to ensure Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals are met each shift.
This is a 2-2-3 shift, 6pm to 6:30am
Additionally, you will:
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Demonstrate progress towards communicated objectives.
- Ensure adherence to plant standards (including but not limited to GMP, FDA, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, Kosher).
- Improve and maintain communicated performance standards for the department; manage with the flexibility to react as needed when breakdowns arise.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments within operations to ensure production requirements.
- Ensure departmental SOPs are updated as needed and utilized by all hourly associates; provide necessary job-specific training as warranted.
- Validate time and attendance through daily and weekly reviews of employee timecards.
- Promote a positive team atmosphere and champion involvement of all employees.
- Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback on the performance of hourly associates.
- Ensure departmental compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Order consumable supplies.
- Drive accountability through strong leadership and set consistent expectations.
- Perform root cause analysis, problem solving, and follow-up related to operational and safety incidents within the department.
- Address employee concerns; elevate to next level leadership as needed.
- Administer discipline as required for job performance, attendance, or any other contract violations.
- Perform 30/60/90-day reviews of new employees.
- Help drive maintenance priorities throughout the shift.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings with incoming operators to discuss topics related to previous shift, SQCDMN metrics, and general plant communication.
- Review manufacturing production and shipping schedules, identify gaps and risks while collaborating with the manager and peers to balance work schedule.
- Be responsible for the operational performance of the assigned shift.
- Ensure sound communication systems are in place so all employees are aware and can participate in continuous improvement of the operation.
- Work with project team to ensure equipment is available as needed.
- Manage employee PTO and scheduling.
About You
- Bachelor’s Degree: (BS Degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred); or 3 to 5 years equivalent experience.
- 3+ years supervisory experience within a food/beverage or other manufacturing environment required.
- Familiarity with CIP/HAACP/FSI and other quality standards preferred.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement and/or lean manufacturing experience.
- Thorough understanding of fluid dynamics is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, conflict management, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience managing in a Union environment is preferred.
- Shift flexibility with nights and weekends required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and potentially stressful conditions.
- Ability to work independently toward departmental objectives with minimal direction.
