Processing Supervisor, Night Shift Job at UNAVAILABLE in West Jordan

We have an opening for a Processing Supervisor, Night Shift based in our West Jordan, UT manufacturing facility. As the Processing Supervisor, you will help manage and mobilize a team of hourly associates to ensure Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals are met each shift.

This is a 2-2-3 shift, 6pm to 6:30am

Additionally, you will:

1. Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
2. Demonstrate progress towards communicated objectives.
3. Ensure adherence to plant standards (including but not limited to GMP, FDA, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, Kosher).
4. Improve and maintain communicated performance standards for the department; manage with the flexibility to react as needed when breakdowns arise.
5. Work cross-functionally with other departments within operations to ensure production requirements.
6. Ensure departmental SOPs are updated as needed and utilized by all hourly associates; provide necessary job-specific training as warranted.
7. Validate time and attendance through daily and weekly reviews of employee timecards.
8. Promote a positive team atmosphere and champion involvement of all employees.
9. Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback on the performance of hourly associates.
10. Ensure departmental compliance with company policies and procedures.
11. Order consumable supplies.
12. Drive accountability through strong leadership and set consistent expectations.
13. Perform root cause analysis, problem solving, and follow-up related to operational and safety incidents within the department.
14. Address employee concerns; elevate to next level leadership as needed.
15. Administer discipline as required for job performance, attendance, or any other contract violations.
16. Perform 30/60/90-day reviews of new employees.
17. Help drive maintenance priorities throughout the shift.
18. Conduct pre-shift meetings with incoming operators to discuss topics related to previous shift, SQCDMN metrics, and general plant communication.
19. Review manufacturing production and shipping schedules, identify gaps and risks while collaborating with the manager and peers to balance work schedule.
20. Be responsible for the operational performance of the assigned shift.
21. Ensure sound communication systems are in place so all employees are aware and can participate in continuous improvement of the operation.
22. Work with project team to ensure equipment is available as needed.
23. Manage employee PTO and scheduling.

About You

1. Bachelor’s Degree: (BS Degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred); or 3 to 5 years equivalent experience.
2. 3+ years supervisory experience within a food/beverage or other manufacturing environment required.
3. Familiarity with CIP/HAACP/FSI and other quality standards preferred.
4. Demonstrated continuous improvement and/or lean manufacturing experience.
5. Thorough understanding of fluid dynamics is a plus.
6. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, conflict management, and critical thinking skills.
7. Experience managing in a Union environment is preferred.
8. Shift flexibility with nights and weekends required.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to work under pressure and potentially stressful conditions.
11. Ability to work independently toward departmental objectives with minimal direction.
