Position Overview:

As a Safety Supervisor, you will ensure the behavior of the crew (when working on a client site) is in accordance with company safety culture. You will understand the lagging and leading safety indicators and promote a philosophy that achieves established goals. This includes the identification of job site/area specific safety requirements, safety equipment, material procurement, training requirements, and tracking of training.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and enforce the Site Safety Program for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating, and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage.
  2. Use and enforce job specific safety standards, best management practices, and Site-Specific safety program to ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site resulting in an accident/incident free project.
  3. Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations (including OSHA), as well as Site Specific policies and owner/contractual requirements.
  4. Conduct daily and/or weekly job site inspections as appropriate or specified by job.
  5. Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
  6. Investigate, corroborate, and document all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
  7. Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.
  8. Conduct weekly 'Toolbox Safety Meetings' and document content and attendance.
  9. Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees.
  10. Advise project staff on site specific safety issues/guidelines.
  11. Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Thorough knowledge of General Industry methods and OSHA standards
  2. OSHA 30 General Industry Certification; OSHA 500 is a plus
  3. First aid & CPR certified
  4. 5-10 years safety experience in the construction industry
  5. Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows
  6. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
  7. Willing to travel
  8. Min. 2-month contract
  9. 50+ hrs/week
