We’re expanding our factory network and introducing a new manufacturing facility designed with the climate in mind. Our Glendale, Arizona production factory is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility and distribution center with cutting-edge technology and advanced systems designed with sustainability at the forefront.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an Electrical and Automation (E&A) Specialist with leadership skills who can perform hands-on work but is also capable of supervising the work of vendors, while following all applicable Nestlé standards. This position requires creativity, experience, and the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts. This is an exciting opportunity for developing both technical and leadership skills.
Work Schedule:
This position will require working on a 2-2-3, 12-hour night shift schedule from 6:00pm – 6:30am.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
• Review User Requirement Specification (URS) and make necessary Electrical and Automation recommendations based on Nestlé standards.
• Support training for operators and maintenance teams according to Nestlé guidelines.
• Develop necessary timeline and schedule to keep track of milestones, parts ordered, and vendor commitments. - Design:
• Review/Build electrical design using AUTOCAD according to Nestlé standards, including necessary electrical calculations and SISTEMA documentation.
• Review/Build Pneumatic Designs needed for projects.
• Review/Build control design and MCC designs with vendors ensuring compliance with Nestlé standards.
• Review/Create the Bill of Materials (BOM) using the electrical and Pneumatic schematics and track materials delivery.
• Review/Create PLC tagging using Nestlé S88 document standards.
• Review/Design PLC program in Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA where necessary, adhering to NEAT toolbox 7 (Nestlé programming standard).
• Create/Review Network Architecture and communication exchange signals between PLCs.
• Create checklist for FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) according to Nestlé guidelines. - HMI/SCADA Development:
• Review/Build HMI screens using Wonderware Software and NEAT 7.0 guidelines.
• Create a simulation plan to review various functionality of SCADA like Recipe Management, Product Routes, CIP Routes, etc.
• Work with vendors to ensure HMI screens and SCADA controls are intuitive and effective for the operations team. - Other Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop action plans for E&A objectives.
• Recommend and drive actions to build smart and cohesive systems for seamless integration with other systems.
• Streamline engineering processes by creating Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
• Provide support for process control and monitoring equipment software design, commissioning, testing, and corrective action.
• Support all phases of the factory including concept and research; estimating cost; component selection; network design; panel design; layout; purchasing; device troubleshooting; PLC programming; HMI tagging; and FAT support.
Estimated travel required: 10% of time
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 2 years of experience in Electrical, Controls/Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering related roles.
- OR Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 4 years of experience in Electrical, Controls/Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering related roles.
- OR High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 7 years of experience in Electrical, Controls/Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering related roles.
SKILLS:
• SCADA and HMI programming; Wonderware software preferred.
• Expertise in integrating power switch gear, automation components, transformers, and branch circuit protection with motors, valves, filters, and sensors into a high-quality system.
• Programming and troubleshooting PLC ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks using Studio 5000.
• AutoCAD proficiency.
• Expertise in drafting electrical schematics with power and control systems.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of industry standards like OSHA and UL requirements.
