Royal Caribbean has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Analyst, Housekeeping reporting to the Director, Housekeeping Operations.
Position Summary
- The Analyst will be responsible to support the ships in areas that he/she oversees, e.g., uniforms, coffee program, and amenities or any other project delegated.
- This position will also be responsible for all inventories of shipboard items and provide a consolidated report to the Director of Housekeeping.
- Maintain ship KPI reports and distribute both shoreside and shipboard.
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of management both shipboard and shoreside.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and introduce any new technologies that can assist the Housekeeping department to function more efficiently.
- Be the contact person for Excalibur regarding all Housekeeping technology development and work with Shoreside and Shipboard teams to have products launched.
- Manage the Christmas décor and uniform program with assistance from the Housekeeping Director.
- Research and introduce new chemicals and equipment.
- Establish and monitor chemical inventory par levels and consumption on each vessel.
- Establish and monitor (pool) deck furniture and equipment inventories.
- Establish and monitor linen and terry inventories.
- Maintain and produce reports related to ship KPI’s and maintain the HAT tool for stateroom inspections.
- Manage Housekeeping SharePoint that houses Housekeeping SOPs and SQM.
- Identify and track all SQM and SOP updates, and update the SQM application while keeping the SharePoint updated with SOPs.
- Monitor ship appearance and ship cleanliness ratings for the Fleet and highlight variances to target.
- Identify potential areas of improvement and savings in close collaboration with the Shipboard teams with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness in all areas of Housekeeping.
- Prepare and format any presentations and meeting agendas that will be used in fleet calls or housekeeping initiatives, and keep accurate meeting minutes of all.
Qualifications
- A degree of administrative knowledge.
- Knowledge of the hospitality industry, e.g., maintenance and cleaning from the cruising industry, hotels, hospitals, large office buildings.
- Bachelor’s degree from a college or university in Hospitality Management or related field.
- Beneficial to have some design knowledge, as skills are required to put presentations together.
- Beneficial to have sound knowledge and have attended mandatory Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) training.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time, both internationally and domestically.
- Must travel to all ships experiencing OPP level 3 barrier cleaning.
Knowledge and Skills
- Must be detail-oriented and process-driven.
- Beneficial if the candidate has knowledge of chemicals, proper cleaning techniques, requirements, handling, and use of equipment.
- Possesses working knowledge of AMOS, Internet, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, or related programs, and the ability to navigate within these software packages to provide detailed and quality reports to shore-side management.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships amongst various groups of individuals across a multi-cultural departmental environment.
- Possess solid planning skills and the ability to teach, counsel, and train staff. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities.
- Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, and shipboard employees.
