Objective of the Position: Support Production, Quality and Engineering as a provider of resources and reduce scrap / rework and defects internally. This is a 3rd shift role.


Essential Accountabilities:

  1. Be the Customer advocate, work with the customer locations to understand how our product is used in the customer environment, identify assembly issues and drive resolution.
  2. Reduce and prevent defects from reaching customer using AIAG and TS 16949 guidelines.
  3. Train associates, engineers and management in core quality tools including the 8 Quality Basics.
  4. Audit plant floor and weld cells for issues and risks of defects.
  5. Review Work Instructions and work with Manufacturing Engineering to update to include in process inspections, 1st off checks and end of line inspections.
  6. Review gauge instructions to assure accuracy and perform Gauge R&R studies.
  7. Track, Document, analyze customer issues and returns.
  8. Participate in Plant Level Program Management initiatives and assure APQP deliverables are completed in line with program timing.
  9. Support Metrology Lab by conducting CMM Programming & Layout.
  10. Access Root Cause and implement corrective actions of defects (QPS & 8D).
  11. Create and update gauge instructions, train as needed Gage Control.
  12. Coach/ Mentor team members in Problem Solving activities.
  13. Schedule and assure proper layouts (CMM) of parts for PPAP, Customer and supplier, review and update as needed.
  14. Coordinate product certification via PPAP with the Customer.

Secondary Accountabilities:

  1. Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  2. Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  3. Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM policies related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

Requirement Profile

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Quality or closely related field.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years’ automotive experience in automotive manufacturing.
  3. Experience in GD&T, CMM Programming, Tier 1 Automotive Product Launch, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Supervisory Experience and Gage Control.
  4. Program management and quality knowledge.
  5. Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
  6. Prior training in PPAP Training, APQP Training (Control Plan / FMEA), GD&T Training / Blueprint reading, SPC Training and Audit Training (TS16949, internal audits, etc.).
  7. To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
