Title: Coachtopia Product Development Manager Ready to Wear and Leather Goods

Primary Purpose:

The Product Development Manager will support the PD team as a key liaison between design, production, merchandising, and materials for the RTW + Leathergoods team. The PD manager must make sure that design adheres to the development timeline and is responsible for timeliness, accuracy, and execution of samples along with carrying to circular initiatives.

Reports to the Sr. Director of Product Development.

  • Ready to Wear and Leather goods experience needed.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the PD team based on priorities set by the Team Lead.
  • Act as a knowledge sharing hub/conduit for information and own communication of development with cross-functional partners (PD, Design, Merchandising, Materials, Production, Compliance, Marketing, and overseas teams).
  • Build relationships with internal and external partners that facilitate synergy and collaboration.
  • Partner with IS and business partners to suggest improvements and efficiencies within our systems.
  • Manage and maintain all development activities using various tools: ecVision sample modules, material modules, development logs, material and hardware matrices, design cards, and functionality charts.
  • Partner with Materials Management teams to ensure materials are in work and on track for milestone deliverables.
  • Review prototype samples with a focus on product execution, consistency of details, and an understanding of Design’s aesthetic intent.
  • Own and manage standardizing Design intent for new silhouettes each season.
  • Manage approval of proto samples within the Product Development Timeline (PDT) deadlines to ensure timely execution of all product decisions and quality issues.
  • Oversee material approvals and resolution of DNPs (Do Not Purchase) and TBDs to meet matrix validation deadlines.
  • Manage all costing activities/milestones according to the PDT and other cost-related sub-calendars (development costs, final costs, and monthly PO costs) and manage cross-functional discussions in costing meetings.
  • Implement and coordinate projects and initiatives aimed at improving margins and circular design.
  • Facilitate and prepare packages for local and overseas development and sampling.
  • Communicate sampling requests directly to local and overseas factories and vendors.

An outstanding professional will have...

  • 4+ years of product development experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting a design and development process.
  • Experience working for a luxury brand is a plus.
  • Experience working with local and overseas manufacturers.
  • An understanding of product lead times and garment construction.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Proficiency in PLM.
